Zillow Now No. 1 Review Site for Real Estate Lead Generation (Infographic)

October 20, 2017

The combination of Zillow reviews with Zillow ads is a 1-2 knockout punch for real estate lead generation. Now, for the first time ever, it’s overtaken other real estate review sites and has earned the No. 1 spot for top real estate review searches.

Considering how effective Zillow has been proven to be for boosting real estate business, this is hardly a surprise.

For example, Real Estate Rockstar Jennifer Spencer creates a whopping 35% of her business through the powerful combination of Zillow reviews with Zillow ads. John Lieber uses the same strategy to close more real estate deals.

But what about other online review sites? What about Trulia, Redfin, and Realtor.com? What about general review sites like Yelp, Google, and Facebook?

The average real estate client will only leave a review on one site, so where should you focus your efforts? Obviously, it’s best to opt for the site that’s likely to create the most business.

Zillow Reviews Now No. 1 for the First Time

Recent analysis by Rising Star Reviews shows that Zillow reviews are now No. 1. When potential clients search the Internet for reviews of real estate agents, they include Zillow in their search phrases more often than they include any other online review site.

Google Reviews Is a Very Close No. 2

Google is a very close second. Zillow only surpassed Google in 2017 as the No. 1 review site for real estate, and it’s still only beating Google by a hair in that regard. However, Zillow’s rise in popularity has continued for years, so there’s every reason to expect that Zillow will continue to widen its lead against Google next year.

Yelp Is a Distant Third for Real Estate Reviews

Yelp comes in at a distant No. 3. Not only does Zillow beat Yelp hands down, the popularity gap is widening. In 2016, real estate clients searched the Internet for Zillow reviews three times more often than they searched for Yelp reviews. Now, real estate clients are searching for Zillow reviews four times more often. Zillow is well on its way to leaving Yelp in the dust in 2018.

What About Real Estate Review Sites?

Zillow has managed to beat Google and Yelp, but what about sites like Trulia, Redfin, and Realtor.com?

Well, first off, Zillow acquired Trulia in 2015 and has since integrated all of their reviews. When you get reviews on Zillow, they’ll also display on Trulia.

Despite the fact that Trulia reviews are basically just a front for Zillow reviews at this point, clients still search for Trulia reviews more often than they search for reviews on either Redfin or Realtor.com. Regardless, all three of these real estate sites fell well behind Yelp in popularity.
